During the earlier part of 2021, Lester Controls was involved in an upgrade of three existing public scenic passenger lifts for a premier retail and leisure destination in the South East. These are located in the centre of the mall, attracting a heavy inflow of visitor traffic, which was a crucial factor when deciding what type of modernisation work or replacement of components would be undertaken. The upgrade of these large passenger carrying lifts included a Lester Controls ALMEGA II traction controller with a VVVF Magnetek HPV1000 drive, all fully EN81-20 compliant. To ensure that minimal disruption took place whilst the project is undergoing, the manufacture and installation of the lifts are being completed under a phased programme of one lift modernisation at a time, with the first one having been delivered this June.
